Literature
Right up to the line
Pretend I'm not around
And that its only in my head
Convince yourself I'm never in your heart
Or in your bed
Its hardly lying dear
Come on, its not like we were lovers
Just the two of us colliding
With my head under the covers
And no you never forced me
I could always be ignored
In the instant I refused
Or you decided you were bored
Of having me, your plaything
If I wont do as I'm told
Though in public I was at arms length
At home you'd be the one to hold
Me tightly as you said to me
We'd never be apart
But now you're swearing blind
That it was my idea to start.
How much wear and tear can a heart take?
How long can a soul last?
How can the future be beautiful,
If the present will partner the past?
One shot, one slash and one stab,
Not even a mark is there.
I guess the strongest heart
Is the one filled with love and care.
But surely it can't last that long
With all the beatings that it can take.
Surely it has to be pummeled so hard
That one day it's just going to..... b r e a k.
Nothing yet, have faith. by Songoftheworld, literature
Literature
Nothing yet, have faith.
Counting hours between syllables
It puts a glacier between us
With no bridge to the middle
So I cannot move across.
And so I wait with freezing hands
For you to catch the rope I've thrown
Three tugs for "I want you"
Two for "I miss you"
And one for just "I'm here".
With no tugs I have no message
And I cannot throw more rope
So I stay beside this glacier
With faith, rather than hope.
A faith that, though my heart is numb
From waiting in the cold,
When this glacier is behind us
I will be warmed by your hold.
